HTTP to HTTPs switch

In URLMaster there is a setting called 'When switching from https -> http use client based redirect?' If the SSL handling for a portal includes 'enforce https settings', then a non-https page requested as https will be redirected to the http version. If this value is checked, a client-based javascript redirect will be used to avoid a browser security warning. If unchecked, the server will do the redirection, which may produce a browser security warning.

Can you make this available in a next release? Thanks for this great module, I love it!

Hi Mariette

I believe the functionality for doing the client based redirect was removed when URL Master was converted to the new AUM functionality. Or at least I can't find it.

I don't see any variable for setting this behavior in the current code.

I've asked Bruce Chapman to verify. I'll update as soon as I hear back.

Thanks! I already posted a question about this in his forum: but did not receive an answer. To be honest I think this has not been implemented in the URLrewriter from DNN Platform.

Hi, Bruce kindly answered my question and it is possible:

It is possible, it's the same setting as before, but in the portal settings table. I must have missed that in the conversion code, I will look into it and get it fixed.

In the meantime, you can insert the value yourself with this SQL Script:

Insert into {databaseOwner}{objectQualifier}PortalSettings (PortalId, SettingName, SettingValue)
values (-your portal id-, 'sslClientRedirect', 'False')

And then restart your application to pick up the new setting from the database.

Excellent! I'll make that change and post a new build later today.

In addition to the above SQL script you also need to set CultureCode is that must not be null.

There are more settings missing, I'll make a list.
